Psalm 146:3-6 Do not put your trust in princes, nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help. His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; in that very day his plans perish. Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; who keeps truth forever.
January 6th 2021! Shall I say anything more? We are all saddened over the events which transpired at the U.S. Capitol on this day. Our Capitol was attacked, our security was breached, and an Air Force Veteran was killed along with other deaths caused by other factors.
We can all agree that the events leading up to this wasn’t fair. Our U.S. Election was unjustly handled with ballots being misplaced, destroyed, and not properly counted. Not to take truth out of context because I wasn’t present, but I will say that portions of the process were tainted and corrupt. As a result, some people have become fearful. By reading God’s Word and spending time in prayer, the Lord has been encouraging me not to walk in fear. Isaiah 41:10 says, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
I encourage everyone not to be afraid, but to trust in the Lord. For He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords! This is definitely not the outcome we wanted, but God is still on the throne and in Absolute Control. He has a plan for our country which will be carried out regardless of the outcome. He created this earth which rightfully belongs to Him anyway. He hangs this earth on nothing (Job 26:7) and He owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10). Man has forgotten and forsaken God so they think they have full power. Nothing could be further from the truth. We need to continue to pray for our country and for our leaders.
2 Chronicles 7:14 If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Some may say, how can you say pray for them? Please remember that God will not be mocked by any man or woman who chooses to misuse and abuse their authority or leadership position for selfish gain or to intimidate and control people. They are in fact bringing judgment upon themselves. Lies, deception, corruption, manipulation, and all works of darkness will never be honored or excused by God regardless of who people are. This is not His character! Anyone who thinks otherwise is deceiving himself and living in denial of God’s truth. He’s not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19)!
Let’s continue to pray without ceasing, trust the Lord and look to Him as our hope.
Psalm 31:1-3 In You, O Lord, I put my trust; let me never be ashamed; deliver me in Your righteousness. Bow down Your ear to me, deliver me speedily; be my rock of refuge, a fortress of defense to save me. For You are my rock and my fortress; therefore, for Your name’s sake, lead me and guide me.
Psalm 71:5 For You are my hope, O Lord God; You are my trust from my youth.
