Attribute #10 – God’s Love!
1 John 4:8-10 He who does not love does not know God, for God is Love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
1828 Webster’s Dictionary Definition of Love: To be pleased with; to regard with affection; benevolence; good will.
God’s love for us runs deeper than any ocean. I love the verse in Jeremiah 31:3 which says, I’m paraphrasing: “I (The Lord) have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.” God’s Love for us is pure, eternal, unconditional, unchanging, everlasting, kind, good, and without limits.
As people, we desire to love and to be loved. My prayer and encouragement for you is to run into the loving presence of Jesus Who loves you far more than anyone can. He will freely offer His love to you and satisfy the deepest longings of your heart. No relationship/spouse, career, possessions, ministry, or hobby will fulfill your needs. There is nothing wrong with these things as they are blessings from God, but they need to be kept in their proper order. God should and always remain as your First Love. He’s the One Who will love you like no other. He’s your Eternal Husband, your Bridegroom, the Lover of your soul and He has loved you with an everlasting love. He knew you before the foundations of the world.
Psalm 139:13-18 For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; when I awake, I am still with You.
Every time God thinks about you, He thinks about you lovingly. Even if He must chastise you, or allow hardships to come to you, it is love that allows it to come and love that sends it. And we never should be afraid of love, because love casts out fear. -The Attributes of God, Volume 2 by A.W. Tozer (Pg. 210)
My encouragement and prayer for you is to bask in the sweet, everlasting, and unconditional love of God. His Love knows no limits! And He loves you with an everlasting love!❤️❤️❤️
