1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. (NLT)
Earlier this year, the ministries in my church studied the Lord’s prayer together. Personally, the study has taught me how prayer is vitally important and essential to the life of every believer. The Lord calls us to pray to Him and make every request known to Him no matter how big or small they may be. He listens when His children cry out to Him and He always answers our prayers according to His will for each of our lives.
Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Isaiah 65:24 “It shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.”
Going through this study has enhanced my prayer life and it has encouraged me to pray more fervently and boldly in my quiet times with the Lord. It has taught me to seek and ask God for His wisdom while praying through my situations. The study has also helped me to trust God with my prayer requests. It has opened my eyes to see things from a biblical perspective versus my own point of view. God may say “Yes” to some of my requests if it’s in line with His perfect will for my life; He may say “No” if it’s not in His plan and purpose; or He may say “Wait” if it’s not the right timing. God also showed me through this study as well as His Word that He will be faithful in answering all of my prayer requests according to His plan for my life. I just need to have an open and willing heart to accept His answer for my situations on whatever He says, “Yes”, “No”, or “Wait”. When He says “Yes”, He’s affirming to me that it’s in His perfect will. When He says “No”, He has a better plan. When He says “Wait”, He’s letting me know that the answer is Yes, however, it’s not the right timing yet. I have to trust that He has my best interest at heart. God sees the big picture. He knows the end from the beginning. His ways are past finding out. Pray without ceasing, trust Him with all of your requests no matter how big or small, and have an open heart to receive the answer He will give you according to His plan for your life. Ladies, pray and trust the Lord! He is Faithful!
Psalm 55:17 Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, and He shall hear my voice.
Isaiah 55:8-9 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you”, says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
Warren Wiersbe: “Real prayer keeps your heart and your head in balance so your burden doesn’t make you impatient to run ahead of the Lord and ruin everything”.
