Romans 12:18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.
With the recent events that have transpired among our cities, we as believers need to pray more fervently for peace and unity across our nation. And if possible, make a strong effort to promote unity within the communities we live in.
I’m saddened by the tragic events that have taken place. Over the past few days, I’ve been in communication with several close friends and each one has asked, “Are you ok?” or “What are my thoughts on the situation?”. My response has been, “That we need to begin by treating each other with mutual respect and dignity regradlesss of our racial, social, and economic backgrounds.” Disrespect, intimidation, and provoking someone to anger creates division and a hostile environment. No one deserves such treatment. We need to treat others as we would want to be treated. For example: If I want to be treated with kindness and respect, I also need to extend that same grace to others. Violence is not the answer!
Please join me in continued prayer for peace, unity, and God’s protection across our nation and for the Lord to break down the walls of division in our communities. Lastly, please pray for the Lord to bring us together in unity, love, and harmony among our cities.
1 Peter 3:8 Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous.
Philippians 2:2-3 Fulfill my joy by being likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
