Attribute #4 – GOD is Omnipotent!
Exodus 9:16 But, indeed, for this reason I have allowed you to remain, in order to show you My power and in order to proclaim My name through all the earth.
1828 Webster’s Dictionary Definition of Omnipotent: Almighty; possessing unlimited power; all powerful.
God is the source of all the power there is. There isn’t any power anywhere that doesn’t have God as its source, whether it be the power of the intellect, of the spirit, of the soul, of dynamite, of the storm or of magnetic attraction. Wherever there is any power at all, God is the author of it. – The Attributes of God (Volume 2) by A.W. Tozer (Pgs. 78-79)
In John 15:5, it says, “I (Jesus) am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.”
God is our Source and He Himself gives us the power to do all things. He empowers us with His Holy Spirit to work and perform our job functions; He strengthens us to provide and take care of our families as well as to maintain our households. God equips us, gives us His wisdom and an understanding to do His will and fulfill the calling He has placed upon each one of us. It is through His power, His enabling, and equipping that we are able to do these things. Apart from Him, we can do nothing as the scripture says. Do not rely on your own strength, other people, or depend on your resources. Rely and depend solely on the Lord! He will equip you through His Spirit and if He chooses to use people to help you, let Him bring you the right people and supply you with the necessary resources to carry out the task(s) that He has set before you.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
God Almighty, the Creator of the universe, the Great I AM who holds and possesses all power is well able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask, think, or imagine (Eph 3:20).
Maybe you are facing an impossible situation or a huge obstacle, and you don’t see a way out. Our Way-Maker, Miracle Worker, and Wonder Working God will make a way, change the impossible to possible, and He will work things out according to His perfect will and in His perfect timing. The same God Who delivered Daniel from the lion’s den will be faithful to deliver us from our storms too.
In Mark 9, a father brought his possessed son to Jesus in order to cast out the spirit which made him mute and Jesus said to him in vs 23b, “All things are possible to him who believes.” In vs 24, the boy’s father cried out, “I do believe, help my unbelief.”
As we entrust our situations to Jesus, let’s ask God to give us believing faith and the heart to accept His outcome for our situations. When we pray to God, He may not answer our prayers the way we want Him to, but let’s Rejoice that He always answers our petitions according to what’s best for each one of us. Joyfully rest in this truth and believe that He loves us all very much! Continually praise and bless His name for Who He is and always give Him the glory for what He does in and through you. God Almighty can and will do all that He desires.
Hebrews 1:3a And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power.
Matthew 19:26 And looking at them Jesus said to them,”With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
